AN EDITORIAL
California’s left-wing business agenda is coming home to roost. Toyota has announced that it will close the state’s only automobile manufacturing plant. General Motors pulled out of the joint venture months ago, and Toyota does not want to go it alone. Of course the present economic climate has a lot to do with the carmaker’s decision, but we suspect California’s unfriendly and costly business climate played a large part in the decision by both auto giants to pull out. The California closure may brighten Toyota’s prospects in more business friendly Mississippi.
