Henry County native Fredda Marie Anderson, 79, of Clarksburg, WV, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at her home. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Dorsey Funeral Home in Shinniston, WV with Frank Shreves officiating. Entombment followed at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Born on November 20, 1932 in Henry, she was a daughter of the late I.G. “Ike” and Vunie Baker Smith. She was a homemaker and attended the Upper Room Church in Adamston, WV. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Morris, a daughter, Sherrill M. Bell, three brothers, Carter, Elroy and Tommy Smith, and one sister, Madge Jackson.
She is survived by: three daughters, Patricia (Dave) Robinson, Penny (John) Williams and Connie Morris, all of Clarksburg; two sisters, Katie Jean (Bill) Hart and Glenda (Milton) James, both of Paris; a brother, Harlon “Bo” Smith, of Henry; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
CLARA LEE BOWERS NOLES
BRUCETON: Clara Lee Bowers Noles, 86, died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Daniel officiating. Burial followed at New Prospect Cemetery near Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Noles was born October 7, 1925 in Buena Vista to the late Mr. Martin Giles Bowers and Eva Gaye Kee Bowers. She was a member of Prospect Baptist Church and past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, ADAH, Chapter #314. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Paul Noles and a daughter, Pam Wright.
She is survived by: one son, David Noles, of Kyle, SD; one son-in-law, Joe Wright, of Camden; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
JOHN “STANLEY” HIGDON
JACKSON: John “Stanley” Higdon, of Bruceton, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Jackson County General Hospital. A graveside service was Thursday, August 30 at Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock with Bro. Truman Hedge officiating. Bruceton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Higdon was a 1948 graduate of Camden Central High School in Camden. He volunteered and served as an Army corporal in the Korean War and was a past member of the local VFW. He graduated from Bethel College with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1958. He was preceded in death by a son, James Edgar Higdon; his parents, Frank Edgar and Bess Hall Higdon; and a sister, Betty Higdon Butler.
He is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Betty Sue Higdon (nee May), of Bruceton; two daughters, Janet Higdon Barcroft, of Brentwood, and Alice Higdon, of Memphis; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
GEARLDYNE DODSON WILLIAMS
PARIS: Gearldyne Dodson Williams, 92, of Paris, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at her residence in Paris. Funeral services were held at the LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Bob Palmer officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris.
Mrs. Williams was born on February 9, 1920 in New Concord, KY to the late Ray Moody and Pearl Dodson Moody. She was a member of New Liberty Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by: husband, Theron Williams; a son, Tommy H. Williams; a daughter-in-law, Jenia Williams; a son-in-law, Elroy Roberson; three sisters, Velma Davis, Ann Hoffman and Elna Townsend; two brothers, Earl Moody and Nathan Moody; and a grandchild, Cynthia Dawn Roberson.
She is survived by: five daughters, Betty G. Roberson of Paris, Jona Carolyn (Hugh) Tyler of Cottage Grove, Brenda (Joel) Sutton of Columbus GA, Dian Terry of Dover and Penny (Eugene Bethel) Sutton of Paris; two sons, Allen Leon (Nellie) Williams, of Paris, and Larry D. (Cheryl) Williams, of Buena Vista; daughter-in-law, Carol Williams, of Hollow Rock; five sisters, Elnora Adkins of Chicago IL, Helen Evans of Paris, Onita Cobb of Ann Arbor MI, Martha Landrum of Paris, and Wilma Jackson of Bowie TX; three brothers, James Moody of Romulus MI, Leroy Moody of Stewart, and Ronald Moody of Anniston AL; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
MARGARET FRANCES HILLIARD
1936 - 2012
Mrs. Margaret Frances Hilliard, 76 of Huntingdon, Tennessee died Friday, August 31, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services were Saturday, September 1, in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment followed in Jamison Cemetery. Rev. Alex Hilliard officiated the service.
Mrs. Hilliard was born July 18, 1936 in Clarksburg, Tennessee to the late John Hampton and Mae (Selph) Hampton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Grove Congregational Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ted Hilliard; two brothers, Leonard Hampton and Leon Hampton.
She is survived by two daughters, JoAnna Roberts (husband Guy), Sherri Hilliard; and one son, William Bruce Sexton, all of Huntingdon.
FRANCES LOUISE SMOTHERS
1923 - 2012
HUNTINGDON: Mrs. Frances Louise Smothers, 89, of Huntingdon, Tennessee, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services were Monday, September 3, 2012 in the Chapel of Dilday – Carter Funeral Home. Interment followed in the New Springhill Cemetery. Brother Jim Holt officiated.
Mrs. Smothers was born April 22, 1923, in Carroll County, Tennessee, to the late Lewis Newbill and Alice May (Marson) Newbill. She was a retired employee of Publix Shirt Corporation. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dilver Smothers, a son, Steve Smothers, four brothers, Hern Newbill, Joe Newbill, J. A. Newbill, Albert Newbill, four sisters, Cecil Barker, Faye Fields, Ester Bush and Lester Synder.
She is survived by three daughters, Hope (Dale) Vinson, of McLemoresville, Tennessee, Kay (Ronnie) Story, of Weakley County, Tennessee, Kathy (George) Norman, of Huntingdon, Tennessee, two sons, Lynn Dale Smothers and Dan (Diane) Smothers, both of Huntingdon, Tennessee. She also leaves eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

MARY MONICA ROBERTS
MCKENZIE, TENN – Funeral services for Mary Monica Roberts, 47, are Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home with Bob Hutchins officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 11:00 am until service time. Ms. Roberts, a bank employ, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at her residence. She was born on December 22, 1964 in McKenzie to Joe and Nancy Harbor Roberts.
Survivors include son - Cory Antoniel Diaz, Chicago; daughters, Melody Marie Diaz, Chicago, Katherine Alexander Roberts, Chicago; brother; Gary Beaty, Middlesboro, KY; sisters; Kimberly Ann Roberts, McKenzie, TN Rhonda Jo Roberts, Nashville. She is also survived by one grandchild. Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
JESSIE ROVERTA BUSH
Funeral services for Jessie Roverta Bush, 88, were Monday, August 20, 2012 at Brummitt -McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Fred Morris and Paul Merwin officiating. Interment followed at Liberty Cemetery.
Ms. Bush, a former factory worker, died Saturday, August 18, 2012 at McKenzie Health Care Center.
She was born on March 22, 1924 in Carroll County to Jesse and Lucy McBride Bush. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Virgil, William Vernon and Floyd Bush, sisters; Martha Barton and Annie Toombs.
Survivors include sisters; Retha Nelson and Elber Ruth Ellis. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and one special nephew Eli Dixon.

L. V. BOOTHE
L.V. Boothe, 99, of Mason, Michigan, formerly of Gleason/McKenzie, Tennessee, died August 24, 2012, in Charlotte, Michigan. Funeral services were Wednesday, August 29, at the Grace Baptist Church in McKenzie.
She was born on July 7, 1913, to John Thomas and Lockie (Ham) Jones in Gleason, Tennessee. L. V. enjoyed her family, friends and cooking, quilting, drawing, painting and gardening. She was a Bible scholar and loved to read her Bible. She was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church in McKenzie and regularly attended Mason Assemby of God Church in Mason, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dalton Boothe in 1980; brothers, J. T., Harry Lee, James Howard and sister, Virginia.
She is survived by her daughter, Helen Purvis, of Mason; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

KATHY SUE WHEELER
Kathy Sue Wheeler, 52 of Cedar Grove, Tennessee died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Wheeler was born August 15, 1960 in Harlan, Kentucky. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a daughter; Dawn Nichole Fee.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years, James Andrew "Jim" Wheeler of Cedar Grove; her mother, Betty Himebaugh of Okeechobee, Florida; one sister, Sandy Emmonds ( husband Frank) of Kissimmee, Florida and one brother, Larry Fee (wife Doreen) of Spring Hill; and two grandchildren.
DENNIS DWAYNE DENIKER
Dennis Dwayne Deniker, 50 of Hollow Rock, Tennessee died Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
Graveside services were conducted Thursday, August 23, 2012 at McAuley Cemetery. Bro. Robert Waddle officiated the service.
Mr. Deniker was born May 7, 1962 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Earnest Deniker and Joyce Jones Deniker. He was also preceded in death by a sister; Lenora Deniker. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Deniker; one son, Robbie Burton - both of Hollow Rock; one step son, Eric Kruger of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Kathleen Dube of Camden, Nadine Deniker of Hollow Rock, Glenda Hottis of Michigan; two brothers, William Deniker of Huntingdon and Robert Dale Deniker of Hollow Rock. He also leaves three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
REBECCA JANE STEWART BURTON
TREZEVANT: Rebecca Jane Stewart Burton, 49, of Trezevant, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Funeral services were Friday, August 24, 2012 at Bodkin Funeral Home with Bobby Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Bowers Chapel Cemetery in Trenton.
Mrs. Burton was born October 15, 1962 in Milan to the Bobby Joe Stewart of Atwood and the late Nancy Bell Kilburn Madden.
Besides her father, she is survived by: one son, Tony (Jennifer) Griggs, of Atwood; one daughter, Courtney Burton, of McLemoresville; two brothers, Joe Stewart, of Milan, and Mark Stewart, of Jackson; two step-sisters, Sheila Kay Dumphy, of Milan, and Ivy Gail McDaniel, of Jackson; and three grandchildren.
WILLIAM EARL ANDERSON
PARIS: William Earl Anderson, 81, of Paris, died Monday, August 20, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services were Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Robert D. Martin officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris.
Mr. Anderson was born September 30, 1930 in Wildersville to the late James Wesley Anderson and Florence Kizer Anderson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gene Anderson. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Paris, a US Army veteran of the Korean War and a Mason with the Bruceton Lodge since 1953. He worked with L & N Railroad for 35 years and started KWT Railroad in Paris in 1987. He also served four terms as 5th District Henry County commissioner.
He is survived by: his wife, Delores Horton Anderson, of Paris; one daughter, Karla Gurton, of Paris; one son, William E. “Bill” (Christy) Anderson, Jr., of Paris; one brother, James Fred Anderson, of McKenzie; and five grandchildren.

EVA SUE DORRIS
KNOXVILLE: Eva Sue Dorris, 69, of Knoxville, died Thursday, August 23, 2012 following a battle with ovarian cancer.
Sue was a member of West Park Baptist Church and Berean Sunday School Class and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Baxter and Lillie Rucker.
She is survived by: her husband of 50 years, Jerry Dorris; one daughter, Patricia Lynn Dorris; one son, David (Catherine) Dorris; three grandchildren and several cousins.
RETHA PAULINE PENNINGTON
GLEASON: Retha Pauline Pennington, 81, of Gleason, died Friday, August 24, 2012 at Oak Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services were Sunday, August 26, 2012 with Bro. Bob Copeland officiating. Burial followed at Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason.
Mrs. Pennington was born April 28, 1931 in Sikeston, Missouri to the late Tom Pennington and Marcella (Gosche) Pennington. She was a school teacher.
She is survived by: one sister, Shirley Pennington; one brother, Harry Pennington; and caregiver Mildred Daniel, of Gleason.

DOROTHY LOUISE LUDES
BRUCETON: Dorothy Louise Ludes, 63, died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Lakeside Retirement Center in McKenzie. Funeral services were Sunday, August 26 at Bruceton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Daniel officiating. Burial followed at Fairmont Cemetery in Willow Springs, Illinois.
Mrs. Ludes was born May 9, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Richard Michael Ludes and Carla W. Wachholoa Ludes. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Argo Summitt, Illinois.
She is survived by: one sister, Shirley Ballard; and several cousins.
TERESA NANETTE BARNARD
PARIS: Teresa Nanette Barnard, 45, of Paris, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at her residence. Memorial services were Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mrs. Barnard was born January 13, 1967 in Paris to the late James Bobby Sanderfer and Frances Ruth Bates Sanderfer. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Ann Nolen and Barbara Jean Moran, and one brother, William Wayne Offord. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Paris.
She is survived by: two daughters, Frances Rosettia “Rose” Teem and Jamie Mae Barnard, both of Paris; two sisters, Linda Sue Cole, of Paris, and Cindy Lee Rainey, of Henry; two brothers, Daniel Ray Herndon, of Paris, and Ricky Owen Offord, of Nashville; and three grandchildren.
WAYNE F. GARNER
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TN: Wayne F. Garner, age 77 of Franklin, formerly of McKenzie, died recently. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 with Pastor Scotty Smith officiating. Burial follows at Williamson Memorial Gardens.
He was a retired engineer in the telecommunications industry, a member of Russwood Baptist Church in Buchanan, and attended Christ Community Church in Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Euna Dilday Garner.
He is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Eloise Bogle Garner; sons, Dr. Randal (Mary Ann) Garner and Mark C. Garner; and three grandchildren.
LORETTA JEAN ROBERSON

Mrs. Roberson was born July 17, 1948 in Fulton to the late Robert and R. Lee Adams Brown. She was retired from H.I.S. in Gleason and attended Friendly God Church of Christ in McKenzie.
She is survived by: her husband, Lawrence Roberson; two sons, Edward Jarrod (Jackie) Sneed, of McKenzie, and Robert E. (Nykkeisha) Jumper, of Paris; one sister, Beverly Owens, of McKenzie; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Schneidt, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 in Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Horace and Annie Nelson. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Miles.
Survivors included: her husband Larry S. Schneidt, of Redford Township, MI; two sons, William (Junior) Bynum, of Dresden, and Barry Bynum, of Jackson; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Epperson, Chad Bynum and Eric Bynum, all of Jackson, William Harold Bynum, of Lebanon, Sam Bynum, of Texas, Jennifer Krai, of Houston, TX, Michael Miles, of Jackson, and Sgt. Steven Miles, of Fort Campbell, KY; and her great-grandchildren, Abby, Kail, Carley, Olivia, Michael, Cason, Cody and Camron, and two future great-grandchildren due at any time.
