LAWRENCE RAY BROOKS
1937-2012
DRESDEN: Lawrence Ray Brooks, 74, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Friday, February 17, at 2 p.m. at Tumbling Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Gene Price officiating. Burial followed in Tumbling Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Brooks was born May 22, 1937 in Cook County, Illinois to the late Charlie Murry Brooks and Ora Ethel (Mandrell) Brooks. He was a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include: his wife, Sue Brooks of Dresden; two sons, Johnnie Brooks and Jeff Bradberry, both of Dresden; two daughters, Cindy Brooks Roney of Gleason and Lindy Brooks Bratton of Dresden; and one brother, Dan Brooks.
Williams Funeral Home of Gleason was in charge of arrangements.

THOMAS DEWEY “REDNECK” GARDNER
1944-2012
HUNTINGDON: Thomas Dewey “Redneck” Gardner, 68, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at his home. Funeral services were Saturday, February 18, at 10 a.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Crossno and Judge John Everett Williams officiating. Burial followed in New Crossroads Church Cemetery.
Mr. Gardner was born January 10, 1944 in Madison County to the late Dewey Admiral Gardner and Molly Christine (Jones) Gardner of Lavinia. After careers at Delta Airlines and in construction, he moved back to Carroll County to open Redneck Supply House, his pawnshop and playground for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Huntingdon Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: his wife, Ann Gardner, his daughter; Terri (Scott) Leland, his son, Thomas Dewey Gardner, Jr., and his daughter, Tina (Greg) Knight, all of Knoxville; three sisters, Jane (Al) Jackson of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Judy (Bill) Volner of Lavinia and Ava McLemore of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and three grandchildren.

DOROTHY MARIE SANDERS
1929-2012
HUNTINGDON: Dorothy Marie Sanders, 82, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Harmony Hill Assisted Living. Funeral services were Thursday, February 16, at 1 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Lynn Stapleton officiating. Burial followed in Long Rock Cemetery
Mrs. Sanders was born July 14, 1929 in Huntingdon to the late Goethe Laws and Sophia (Crider) Laws. She was a homemaker and a member of Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hershel Sanders Jr.; two sisters, Doye Simmons and Irene Rodgers, and two brothers, Waldon Laws and Homer Laws.
Survivors include: two sisters, Evola Thompson and Juanita (Tom) McCord, both of Huntingdon; four brothers, Odell (Opal) Laws of Nashville, John Wesley (Shelby) Laws of Palentine, Illinois, Joe Vernon (Venita) Laws and Wilburn (Frances) Laws, both of Huntingdon.

BETTY J. SHELL
1939-2012
GLEASON: Betty J. Shell, 72, died Saturday, February 18, 2012. Funeral services were Monday, February 20, at 1 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home of Gleason with Bro. Gene Price officiating. Burial followed in New Valley Cemetery.
Mrs. Shell was born December 17, 1939 in Martin to the late Daniel W. Hopper and Pearl Seagraves Hopper.
Survivors include: her husband, Herman Shell of Gleason; one daughter, Angela (Carlos) Raymond of Jackson; two sons, Kenneth (Judy) Galloway and Danny (Marguerite) Galloway, both of Jackson; two stepsons, Terry Shell of Gleason and Mike (Linda) Shell of McKenzie; one sister, Martha (Ray) Lemonds of McKenzie; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

MATHER PEARSON
1927-2012
HUNTINGDON: Mather Pearson, 84, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at his home. Funeral services were Saturday, February 18, at 1 p.m. at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Shields officiating. Burial followed in Hopewell Cemetery.
Mr. Pearson was born June 16, 1927 in Carroll County to the late Lee Pearson and Georgia (Crider) Pearson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Anna Rene and Regina Pearson; two sons, Stevie Pearson and Paul Pearson; one sister, Eldora Williams; and six brothers, Andrew Pearson, Hobart Pearson, Wade Pearson, Robert Pearson, Tom Pearson and Myles Pearson.
Survivors include: two daughters; Frances Pearson and Patricia Carter, both of Goodlettsville; seven sons, Richard Mather (Wilma) Pearson and Earnest Pearson, both of Huntingdon, Billy (Marti) Pearson and Randy Pearson, both of Champaign, Illinois, Kenny Pearson of Huntingdon, Nathan (Connie) Pearson of Champaign, Illinois and Robert Pearson of Nashville; one sister, Leodia Phelps of Yuma; 13 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren.
Chase Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

JIMMY DWAYNE PARDUE
1953-2012
HOLLOW ROCK: Jimmy Dwayne Pardue, 58, died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at his home. Funeral services were Monday, February 20, at 11 a.m. at Bruceton Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Conley officiating. Burial followed in New Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Pardue was born March 2, 1953 in Memphis to the late John Robert Pardue and Betty Sue Rogers Pardue. He was a laborer for Jones Plastic. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Rhonda Pardue; and two brothers, Ricky and Ray Pardue.
Survivors include: his wife of 30 years, Cathie Lee Ezell Pardue of Hollow Rock; two daughters, Julie (Jeremish) Farrill of Paris and Jamie (Matt) Moore of Trenton; one son, Josh (Heather) Pardue of Buena Vista; five sisters, Deborah Gaskins of Jackson, Lucy Trull of Huntingdon, Ruby Brown of Camden, Mary Pardue of Hollow Rock, and Theresa Lane of Bruceton; four brothers, Ronnie Pardue of Memphis, Jerry Payne of Omaha, Nebraska, Robert Wayne Pardue and Johnny Pardue, both of Hollow Rock; five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

VONDA DENISE COLE
1967-2012
MCKENZIE: Vonda Denise Cole, 45, died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at her home. Funeral services were Tuesday, February 21, at 10:30 a.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with burial in Caledonia Cemetery.
Ms. Cole was born February 8, 1967 in Huntingdon. She was a dispatcher with the McKenzie Police Department, member of McKenzie First Baptist Church and Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Sue Gulledge Cole.
Survivors include: her father, James Cole of McKenzie; and one brother, Greg (Amanda) Cole of Greenfield.
