CHARLES "FROG" THROGMORTON, 1947-2010
CLARKSBURG: Charles "Frog" Throgmorton, 63, died Thursday, July 15. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 17 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with burial following in the Clarksburg Cemetery.
Mr. Throgmorton was born July 1, 1947 in Paris to the late Hardy and Alice Rushing Throgmorton. He worked in heavy crane maintenance at Norandal Inc., USA.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Throgmorton of Clarksburg; his son, Tracy (Angela) Throgmorton of Clarksburg; one brother, Billy Throgmorton of Portland, Oregon; and three sisters: Helen Harris of Ocean Park, Washington; Dorothy Dennis of Coulee Dam, Washington; and Genevia Hopkins of Royal Oak, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy Amber Throgmorton.
MARY FRANCES DAVID, 1925-2010
MCKENZIE: Mary Frances David, 84, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at McKenzie Regional Hospital. Funeral services are Friday, July 16, 2 p.m. at the Brummitt Funeral Home with burial in Tumbling Creek Cemetery, Gleason.
Mrs. David was born July 29, 1925 in Gleason to Bennie and Clara Highfill Oliver. She was a member of McKenzie First United Methodist Church, a retired librarian and homemaker.
Survivors include: her husband, Harry Don David of McKenzie; one daughter, Victoria (David) Docauer; and three grandchildren, Alex Docauer, Eleanor Docauer and Max Docauer.
In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. David's visitation will be Friday, July 16, from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home.
MARY A. SANFORD, 1932-2010
HUNTINGDON: Mary A. Sanford, 78, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at her home. Graveside funeral services were Thursday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at Hampton Cemetery with Bro. Russell Carlock officiating.
Mrs. Sanford was born February 14, 1932 in Gibson County to the late James Simon Thurbush and Dora Ellen (Luckey) Thurbush. She was a retired employee of Cornerstone. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard D. Sanford; and a son, Thomas Earl Sanford.
Survivors include: one daughter, Bonnie Kathryn Haynes of Huntingdon; two sons, Edward Daniel (Hobo) Sanford and Melvin Glen Sanford, both of Huntingdon; two sisters, Pearline McFaddin and Betty Bass, both of Humboldt; 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
KENNIE MARIE MANESS HODGE, 1929-2010
YUMA: Kennie Marie Maness Hodge, 81, died Friday, July 9, 2010 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday, July 13, at 2 p.m. at Yuma Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Maness officiating. Burial followed in Farmville Cemetery.
Mrs. Hodge was born May 11, 1929 in Henderson County to the late Leslie Maness and Annie (Hayes) Maness. She was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Todd Hodge.
Survivors include: four daughters, Carolyn (Larry) McGuire of Yuma, Joy Dehart of Nashville, Sharon Faye (Lynn) Davidson of Nashville, and Kathy Brown of Yuma; four sons, Charles (Gwen) Hodge of Westport, William Hodge and Daniel (Rhonda) Hodge, both of Yuma, and Donald Hodge of Alaska; one sister, Magelene Jowers of Kenton; 32 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
RONALD ALAN CHESSER, 1958-2010
HUNTINGDON, Tenn: Ronald Alan Chesser, age 51, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services are 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Brummitt Funeral Home-McKenzie with burial at Fairview Cemetery, McKenzie.
Mr. Chesser’s visitation begins Monday, July 12, 2010 at Brummitt Funeral Home McKenzie, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday 10a.m.
Mr. Chesser was a laborer and an Army veteran. He was born October 28, 1958, to James Robert Chesser and Jean Chesser Writtenberry.
He is survived by: three sons, Jesse Chesser of Germany, Casey Chesser of Gleason and Dillion Chesser of McKenzie; three sisters, Pat Fitzpatrick of McKenzie, Sandra White of McKenzie and Debra Higham Rendon of McKenzie; one brother, Terry Chesser and one grandson Sebastian Chesser of San Antonio, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Pamela Burnine and Dianne Chesser and one brother, James Chesser.

WILLIAM EDDIE HORTON, 1947-2010
GLEASON: William Eddie Horton, 63, died Friday, July 2, 2010 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Tuesday, July 6, at 3 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home of Gleason with Bro. Gene Price officiating. Burial followed in Tumbling Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Horton was born May 27, 1947 in Lansing, Michigan. He was a retired mail carrier, veteran of the U.S. Navy, and member of Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his father, William Clyde Horton.
Survivors include: his wife, Regenia (Doster) Horton of Gleason; his mother, Ethel Lou (Tharpe) Horton of Greenfield; three sons, Jack Horton of Martin, Mickey Horton and Trevor Horton, both of Gleason; one sister, Carolyn Lynch of Virginia; and two grandchildren.
BILL GREENE, 1931-2010
HUNTINGDON: Bill Greene, 78, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were Tuesday, July 6, at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Abbott officiating. Burial followed in Marlboro Cemetery.
Mr. Greene was born September 11, 1931 in Vale, Tennessee, to the late Leon Olivan Greene and Verna Agnus (Dowdy) Greene. He was a retired employee of the state of Tennessee and a member of the Marlboro Church of Christ. He also served six consecutive terms as alderman for the Town of Huntingdon from 1974 to 1985.
Survivors include: one son, Paul (Beverly) Greene of Nashville; one nephew and one great-nephew.
EVELYN SCHROEDER BYNUM
MARTIN: Evelyn Schroeder Bynum, 78, a resident of Martin, departed this life on July 2, 2010. A celebration of Evelyn's life was Monday, July 5, at Murphy Funeral Home, 11 a.m. immediately followed by burial at Martin Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Bob and wife, Laurie Rowley; Tom and wife, Sandy; Jimmy and his wife, Tenna; Kim Waters and husband, Hugh Waters; Donna Taylor and fiancée, Ricky Price; Drew and wife, Angela; Barry and wife, Amy Bynum; Cary and partner, Keith Durbin; Janie Dellinger and husband, Ronnie Dellinger; and Brad and his wife, Angie.
Grandchildren: Brittany Kendall and husband, Deshon Kendall; Kyle Peery; Matthew Bynum and wife, Valerie; Danielle Patton and her husband, DeAngelo Patton; Cody Bynum; Lauren Bynum; Tyler Bynum; Sarah Ellis and husband, Shay Ellis; Brian Taylor; Hollye Bynum; Ashley Bynum; Alex Bynum; Hunter Bynum; Madison Dellinger; Zoey Bynum.
Great-grandchildren: Kaleigh Bynum; DJ Kendall; Elijah Young; Hallee Young; Dylan Bynum; Hayden Beasley; Jasmine Taylor.
As well as three nephews, a niece and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister as well as a son, Jerry, who passed away at 6 weeks old and 2 children lost at birth.

MARTIN "POODLE" WATSON, 1921-2010
BRUCETON: Martin "Poodle" Watson, 89, died Friday, July 2, 2010 at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon. Funeral services were Monday, July 5, 2 p.m. at Bruceton Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Joe Hilliard and Bro. Robert Simmons officiating. Burial followed in Sandy Point Cemetery near Camden.
Mr. Watson was born March 7, 1921 in Benton County to the late Curtis P. Watson and Minnie Ruth Coleman Watson. He was the retired owner/manager of Watson's Plumbing, member of Center Point Baptist Church and a WW II veteran.
Survivors include: his wife of 63 years, Edna Fowler Watson of Bruceton; one daughter, Karen (Gary) Wilson of Hollow Rock; one sister, Elrita Hollingsworth of Camden; one brother, Lindle Watson of Camden; and one granddaughter.
TONNIE CRANDALL CROCKER
MILAN: Tonnie Crandall Crocker, 77, died Thursday, July 1, 2010 in McKenzie. Services were Monday, July 5, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
Mr. Crocker was a retired Milan Special School District employee, a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, former chairman and former Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Crocker of Milan; two sons, Roger Crocker and Michael Crocker, both of Milan; one sister, Margaret Vinson of McKenzie; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
