TREZEVANT, Tenn: Dennis Ray Argo, 63, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Henry Co. Medical Center. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 5, 2010 at Trezevant First Baptist Church with burial in the Trezevant Cemetery.
Mr. Argo’s visitation is Sunday, July 4, 2010, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, July 5 9:00 a.m. until service time. Brummitt Funeral Home of Trezevant is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Argo was born in Trezevant, Tenn. on February 1, 1947 to Haywood and Lavern Powell Argo. He was a self-employed plumber and electrician.
He is survived by: his mother, Lavern Argo of Trezevant; his wife, Claudia Manns Argo of Trezevant; one daughter, Amy and her husband Carlos Martinez of Trezevant; one son, Joe and his wife, Sherry Argo of Trezevant; one sister, Pat Argo of Trezevant; one brother, Jerry Argo of Franklin, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Brandi, and her husband Jeff Barnes, Manuel Martinez, Taylor Argo, Darwin Martinez and Ava Martinez and one great-grandson, Easton Barnes.
He was preceded in death by his father, Haywood Argo; one sister, Betty Reaves; and two brothers, Nolan Argo and Harold Argo. (paid obit)
JOE T. GIBSON, 1933-2010
MCKENZIE: Joe T. Gibson, 76, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at McKenzie Regional Hospital. A memorial service is Friday, June 25, 10 a.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie. His dog, Spring, will be buried beside him.
Mr. Gibson was born December 3, 1933 to the late George D. and Mabel Jane Stubblefield Gibson in Gleason. He was in the sheet metal business along with being a roofer, and was also an Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Carlson Gibson.
Survivors include: two children, Joanne M. Gibson Wrona Linker and Joseph T. Gibson Wrona; and one sister, Marjorie R Webb of McKenzie.
JULIE ANN MCMILLIN MOORE, 1960-2010
HOLLOW ROCK: Julie Ann McMillin Moore, 50, died Monday, June 21, 2010. Funeral services are Thursday, June 24, at 3 p.m. at Prospect Baptist Church in Hollow Rock with Bro. David Bayer and Bro. Bob Conley officiating. Burial will follow in New Prospect Cemetery near Hollow Rock.
Mrs. Moore was born March 1, 1960 in Bruceton. She was manager of Jackson Convenience Store and member of Prospect Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, J.W. McMillin, and one brother, Kenny McMillin.
Survivors include: her husband, Michael G. Moore of Hollow Rock; her mother, Ruby Lee McMillin of Hollow Rock; one daughter, Jill (Justin) Stafford of McKenzie; one son, Jay Taylor of McKenzie; one sister, Jennie Nunamaker of Bruceton; one brother, Jimmy Rex McMillin of Hollow Rock; and one granddaughter.

Mr. Corder was born September 22, 1952 inJackson, Tennessee to the late James Corder, Jr. and Charlene (Sellers) Corder.He was a factory worker for Dale’s Recycling. Besides his parents he waspreceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Corder.
He is survived by: two daughters, Lorraine Burnsof Dyersburg, Karen Rivera of Huntingdon; four sisters, Shirley Crews ofLexington, Marilyn Smothers of McKenzie, Ruth Taylor of Parsons, Brenda Smith; three brothers, Bobby Ray Corder, Glen Corder all of Huntingdon, ThomasCorder of McKenzie. He also leavesnine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
ZELMA MAVIS WALKER SMITH, 1912-2010
MCKENZIE, Tenn: Zelma Mavis Walker Smith, 97, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Oak Manor Healthcare Center, McKenzie.
Funeral services are Saturday, July 3, 2:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall, Hwy. 22, McKenzie with burial in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie.
Mrs. Smith’s visitation is Friday, July 2, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie, and Saturday, July 3, 1:30 p.m. until service time at Kingdom Hall in McKenzie.
Mrs. Smith was born in Weakley Co., Tenn. on July 9, 1912 to Tommy Ruth Harvey Walker and Robert Earl Walker. On May 31, 1931 she married Ernest Ariel “Red” Smith. They lived in Martin until 1937, when they moved to McKenzie, where they spent the rest of their lives.
Mrs.Smith enjoyed teaching the Bible, gardening, and sewing. She took her faith very seriously and was baptized in 1958 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Sheworked in local factories for 40 years. She had a great love of animals and was known for having cats that lived up to twenty years. There was always room for one more dog or cat. She spent most of her life looking forward to spring and planting her flower bulbs to watch them bloom. She liked to make blackberry cobbler pies, which were enjoyed by her family and friends. Though small in stature, she was big in expression. We share her hope of a future time when we will be together on a perfect earth with perfect health as originally intended by our creator.
She is survived by: her daughter, Mary Lynn Smith Thorne and her husband, John; onegrandchild, Johnna Robin Thorne Beames and her husband, Ron; twogreat-grandsons, Keith Earl Beames and Gavin Beames; and three great-granddaughters,Meggan Vaughn Beames, Olivia Dawn Beames Cole and her husband, Daren, andFelicia Fawn Beames Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, “Red” Smith; one sister,Zadiee Walker Milton and one brother Thomas Solvie. (paid obituary announcement)

TREZEVANT: Cecil Robert Scott, 86, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services are Saturday, July 3, 11 a.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, Trezevant. Burial will follow at Trezevant Cemetery.
Mr. Scott was born December 2, 1923 to the late James Luther and Sudie Hood Scott. He was a sheet metal worker at Milan Arsenal, a WWII Navy veteran and member of Trezevant Church of Christ. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Scott; six brothers, Ethridge Scott, Onnie Scott, Vergil Scott, Clayton Scott, Walter D. Scott and Bernice Scott; and two sisters, Gracie Frazie and Margaret Higdon.
Survivors include: one daughter, Brenda Kay and her husband, Robert Harrison of Jackson; one sister, Frances King of Huntingdon; four great-grandchildren, Blake Creasy, Madison Short, Paige Lowry and Deanna Lowry; and four grandchildren, Greg Short, David Short, Kristen Creasy and Daphne Lowry.
Mr. Scott's visitation begins Friday at Brummitt Funeral Home, Trezevant from 4 p.m.-8 p.m.
JOHN W. BRYANT
ATWOOD: John W. Bryant, 90, died Sunday, June 20, 2010. Funeral services were Wednesday, June 23, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Mr. Bryant was born to the late Willie Levi and Gertrude Bryant.
Survivors include: his wife, Jessie Bell Bryant; four daughters, Lurlene (Earl) Adkisson, Deborah, Loretta (Willie) Wilkes, and Lucy C. Taylor; one brother, Luther B. Bryant, Sr.; six grandchildren six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

WALTER D. WHITE
SCOTTSBORO, ALABAMA: Walter D. White, 70, died Monday, June 21, at Huntsville Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, June 26, at 2 p.m. at Agape Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Mardis and Rev. Donnie Hutchins officiating. Burial followed in Harmony Cemetery in Section, Alabama.
Mr. White was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Catherine McCutchen White.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Fine White of Scottsboro, Alabama; two sons, Michael (Carrie) White of Helena, Alabama and Steven (Brenda) White of Odessa, Flroida; one stepdaughter, Dianna Clements of Chattanooga; three brothers, Frank White of Hollow Rock, Joe White of Jackson, and Charles White of El Paso, Texas; one sister, Robbie Barker of McKenzie; and five grandchildren.
WILLIAM BOYD FRISTOE, 1921-2010
BRUCETON: William Boyd Fristoe, 89, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Jackson Hospital. Funeral services are Thursday, July 1, at Bruceton Funeral Home at 4 p.m. with burial in Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock.
Mr. Fristoe was born March 19, 1921 in Bruceton to the late Marie and A. Frank Fristoe. After receiving a degree in agriculture from the University of Tennessee, he served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Following the war he served several years as an agriculture agent in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. This was followed by several years working as an insurance adjuster. After retirement he spent many years living with and looking after his parents in Bruceton.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita; and two half-sisters, Eva and Ava.
Survivors include: a niece, a nephew and numerous cousins.
SUE "HENRY SUE" REYNOLDS, 1927-2010
ST. PETERS, MISSOURI: Sue "Henry Sue" Reynolds, 82, died Friday, June 25, 2010 at St. Peters Manor in St. Peters, Missouri. Funeral services are Friday, July 2, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Dilday - Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery in Bruceton.
Mrs. Reynolds was born September 4, 1927 in Leach to the late Alvin Leroy Tosh and Ada (Kelly) Tosh. She was a retired employee of the Publix Shirt Corporation and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Edward Reynolds; three sisters, Birdie Douglas, Lorene Tosh, and Birtha Tosh; one brother, William Tosh; and a great-grandson, Jackson Moore.
Survivors include: two daughters, Donna Moore and Linda Wood, both of St. Peters, Missouri; one son, Stanley Reynolds of Huntingdon, Tennessee, one brother, Roy Tosh of Taylor, Michigan; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 11a.m. until time of services.
MARY ANN PARKINSON, 1928-2010
HUNTINGDON: Mary Ann Parkinson, 82, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Life Care Center in Bruceton. Funeral services were Friday, June 25, at 10 a.m. at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Lynn Stapleton officiating. Graveside services followed in Memphis Memory Gardens at 2 p.m. on Friday.
Mrs. Parkinson was born February 3, 1928 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi to the late Willie T. Small and Katy Doy Gordon. She was a retired employee of Robilio and Samo and a member of Roan's Creek Church of Christ. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Norman Parkinson; one grandson, Dennis Wayne Brooks, Jr.; and one brother, Gordon Small.
Survivors include: one daughter, Linda Kate Parkinson (Dennis) Brooks of Huntingdon; two sons, Donald Wayne (Sharon) Parkinson of Tyler, Texas and Thomas Allen (Susanna) Parkinson of Memphis; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Ms. Gordon was born March 13, 1935 in Bruceton to the late Eddie Harold Joyner and Nona Rachel Barton Joyner. She was a retired employee of Bank of Huntingdon and First Bank, member of Bruceton First Baptist Church and Bruceton Order of Eastern Star Adah Chapter 314. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Joyner, Harold Dean Joyner and Barton Joyner.
Survivors include: two daughters, Deborah (Mark) McPherson of Oak Harbor, Ohio and Darlene (Bill) Heinz of Collierville; one son, Eddie Gordon of Huntingdon; one sister, Ruth Muriel Larkins of Bruceton; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnson was born June 8, 1959 in Orlando, Florida. She was a program manager at Milan Army Ammunition Plant and attended McKenzie Church of Christ.
Survivors include: her husband, Robert Johnson of McKenzie; her mother, B.J. (Jerry) Johnson of Satellite Beach, Florida; her father, Howard Earl (Mary) Loggins of Henrietta, Texas; and two brothers, Howie Loggins of West Virginia and Scott Loggins of Orlando, Florida. Mr. Crutchfield was born September 13, 1927 in Carroll County to the late Elmer Buford Crutchfield and Sarah Lou (Martin) Crutchfield. He was a retired maintenance worker for Emerson Electric Company, a Korean War Army veteran, a lifetime member of the VFW Post in McKenzie, and a member of Barren Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roland Harold Crutchfield.
Survivors include: one sister, Joyce McMackins of Bruceton; two nephews and one niece.
REBECCA HOLMES SMITH, 1919-2010
MCKENZIE: Rebecca Holmes Smith, 91, died Friday, June 25, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Funeral services were Sunday, June 27, at 4 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Harber and Bro. Billy Robinson officiating. Burial followed at McLemoresville Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born May 21, 1919 in McLemoresville to the late Ewen Bedwell and Dollye McKinney Holmes. She was a Christian, a homemaker, a loving and devoted mother and wife. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Vernon Smith; one granddaughter, Lori Robinson; and her twin sisters, Mary Bennett and Elsie Grove.
Survivors include: three daughters, Janice (Billy) Robinson of McKenzie, Debby (Jimmy) Cox of Tiptonville, and Donna Smith of Tiptonville; one son, James Kenneth Smith of McKenzie; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Graden Ellis, 82 of Buena Vista, Tennessee passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 at his home.
Funeral Services were conducted on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery. Bro Wendell Boyd officiated the service.
Mr. Ellis was born on July 30, 1927 in Benton County, Tennessee to the late Claud Lee Ellis and Florence (Hicks) Ellis. He was a retired farmer. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Hampton) Ellis, two daughters, Sandra Hargrove, Vicki Miller all of Buena Vista, three sisters, his twin Grady Crafton, Viola Odle both of Camden, Lorene Williams of Hollow Rock, and one brother, James Wiley Ellis of Holladay. He also leaves five grandchildren, Amon Miller, April Qualls, Adam Simmons, Amanda Garica, Ashley Simmons, and four great grandchildren, Graden Kyle Miller, Emma Mae Qualls, Krisily Isabela Garica, and Nathan Simmons.
