JILL CAROL DAVENPORT, 1958-2010

EAST WENATCHEE, WASHINGTON: Jill Carol (Beasley) Davenport, 51, a nine year East Wenatchee resident, died at her home Friday morning, May 7, 2010. A Commemoration Service is Thursday afternoon, May 13, at 1 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Chapel, 19 Rock Island Road, East Wenatchee, with Chaplain Scott Langager officiating. Ms. Davenport was born September 11, 1958 in Glendora, California to Allen and Nancy (Robinson) Beasley. She was raised to the age of twelve at Mission Viejo, California before the family moved to McKenzie, where she graduated from McKenzie High School in 1977. She was married to Charlie “Jackie” Davenport at McKenzie in September of 1976. They made some moves while her husband was in the military that included Charleston, South Carolina and San Antonio, Texas, prior to her returning to McKenzie in 1981. She made her home in the south until moving briefly to Seattle in 2000. She has resided with her fiancée in East Wenatchee for the last nine years.
Jill was a meticulous housekeeper and a phenomenal cook.
Survivors include: her fiancée, Grant Huffman, East Wenatchee; one son, Trevor Davenport of Paris, Maine; her mother and stepfather, Nancy and George Kometz of Wenatchee; two brothers, Thomas Beasley of Thai Chung, Taiwan and Brennan Beasley of Kent, Washington; and one sister, Cara (Beasley) Nielsen of Flint, Michigan. She is also survived by her two pet Yorkie dogs, Bugsy and Bonnie, who were like daughters to her.
Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee.

INITA BEAL BEVILL, 1934-2010

HENRY: Mrs. Inita Beal Bevill, 75, of Henry, died Friday, May 7, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services were scheduled for Sunday, May 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at McEvoy Funeral Home in Paris with Bro. Dennis Beal and grandson, Dustin Fuzzell officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mrs. Bevill was born December 17, 1934 in Henderson to the late Albert Britton Beal and Mary Elizabeth Tubbs Beal. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clarence Bevill. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church of McKenzie and was a retired supervisor at Emerson Electric.

Survivors include: two daughters, Debra "Debbie" (Danny) Fuzzell of Wynne, Arkansas and Carol Ann (Freddy) Parrish of Humboldt; one son, James Richard (Diana) Bevill of Buchanan; one sister, Gertrude (Junior) Bishop of McKenzie; two brothers, Dennis (Louise) Beal and Leon (Billie) Beal, both of McKenzie; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

STEVEN WESLEY MCCLAIN, 1958 - 2010

HUNTINGDON: Steven Wesley McClain, 51, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, May 8, at 2 p.m. at the Huntingdon Church of Christ with Bro. Dan Winkler officiating. Burial followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.

Mr. McClain was born July 16, 1958 in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late J.T. McClain and Eunice (Nall) McClain. He was the Human Resource Manager for Bluescope Steel Building North America in Jackson, a graduate of Union City High School class of 1976, received his Bachelor Degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin, was working on his MBA at Bethel University and would have graduated in August, and was a member and Deacon of the Huntingdon Church of Christ. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Tim Cagle.

Survivors include: his wife of 25 years, Helen (Webb) McClain of Huntingdon; one daughter, Jackie Faye McClain of Huntingdon; one son, Jacob McClain of Huntingdon; one sister, Debbie (Larry) Williams of Morristown; two brothers, Joe (Vickie) Cagle of New Market and Lynn (Brandy) Cagle of Morristown.

MARGIE J. WHEAT, 1928-2010

MCKENZIE: Margie J. Wheat, 81, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Jackson General Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, May 10, 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home with burial in Caledonia Cemetery, McKenzie.

Mrs. Wheat was born July 8, 1928 to the late Jessie and Mackie Newsom Smith. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hilary Wheat.

Survivors include: two daughters, Ann Weathers-Kass and her husband, Ted of Itasca, Illinois, and Rhonda Wheat Collins and her husband, Rayford, of Jackson,; four sons, James Hilary Wheat of New Johnsonville, Donald Wheat of Huntingdon, Ronald Wheat of Dresden, and Chris Wheat and his wife, Candise, of Paris; one sister, Monita Albano of Chicago, Illinois; five grandchildren, Patti Weidig of Carey, Illinois, Bobby Weathers of Syracuse, New York, Jamie Smith of New Johnsonville, Matthew Wheat of New Johnsonville and Jacob Wheat of New Johnsonville; and seven great-grandchildren, Josh Weidig, Noah Weidig, Trevor Smith, Allie Smith, Carver Smith, Asa Smith and Lucien Wheat.

GEORGIA MAE POWELL, 1933-2010

MCKENZIE: Georgia Mae Powell, 77, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at McKenzie Health Care Center. Funeral services were Saturday, May 8, 11 a.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie, with burial in Liberty Cemetery, McKenzie.

Mrs. Powell was born January 23, 1933 to the late Homer Carl and Bela Britton Sutton. She was a retired owner/operator of Georgia's Beauty Shop and a member of First Baptist Church, McKenzie. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Williams; and one sister, Dean Orr.

Survivors include: three daughters, Charlotte (Charles) Verner of McKenzie, Elisa (Frank) Gross of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee and Crystal (Jeff) Plentovich of Palm Harbor, Florida; two sons, Carl (Melissa) Powell of Huntingdon and Mark (Larenda) Powell of Buchanan; one sister, Shirley Pace of McKenzie; one sister-in-law, Mildred Williams of McKenzie; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

WILLIE B. "PEE WEE" LONG, 1923-2010

MCKENZIE: Willie B. "Pee Wee" Long, 86, died Wednesday, May 6, at McKenzie Health Care Center. Funeral services were Saturday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home with Bro. Clarence DePew officiating. Burial followed at Finley Cemetery.

Mr. Long was born November 6, 1923 in Trezevant to the late Callie and Gertie Long. He was a retired electrician.

Survivors include: four daughters, Sandra (Frank) Maher of Houston, Texas, Peggy Lawrence of Katy, Texas, Nancy (Jerry) Reeder and Shelia (Willie) Lowe, both of McKenzie; one son, Randy (Melody) Long of Paris; 13 grandchildren, Amanda Wooley, Terry Reeder, Ryan Long, Hunter Long, Michael Lowe, Christy Lowe, Darren Reeder, Josh Lawrence, Shannon Thomas, Kelly Fitch, Courtney Rutherford, Zachary Maher, Nicholas Lowe; and 14 great-grandchildren.

LINDON RAY FINCH, 1945-2010

HUNTINGDON: Lindon Ray Finch, 64, died Monday, May 3, 2010 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were Thursday, May 6, at 2 p.m. at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Bernice Birdwell officiating. Burial followed in Mixie Cemetery.

Mr. Finch was born December 31, 1945 in Gibson County to the late S.L. Finch and Addie Veatrice Sloan Finch. He was a self-employed appliance repairman and an Army veteran having served in Vietnam. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Thomas, Flossie Ann Finch; and stepmother, Lorene Finch.

Survivors include: one daughter, Charlotte Finch; one sister, Bobbie Jean Walker of Puryear; three brothers, Raymond Finch and Donald Finch, both of Huntingdon, and Jimmy Wade of Hollow Rock.

IMOGENE WALKER HILL, 1931-2010

PRINCETON, TEXAS: Imogene Walker Hill, 79, died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the Villa Asuncion in Princeton, Texas. Funeral services were Friday, May 7, at 2 p.m. at Dilday-Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Andrew Stokes officiating. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery.

Ms. Hill was born April 3, 1931 in Henderson County to the late Jim and Joella Walker. She was a retired respiratory therapist for Baptist Memorial Hospital and a member of Wildersville Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jo Priestly Fronabarger and Marjorie Faye Ross; and two brothers, James Gregory "Buddy" Walker and Joe Watson "Joe Boy" Walker.

Survivors include: four daughters, Sharon Faye Painter of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Mary Lisa Ashpole, Margie Lynn Medeles and Barbara Jo (Larry) Strickland, all of Josephine, Texas; one brother, Robert Harlon Walker of Bruceton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

WAYNE DOUGLAS STOKER, 1915-2010

GLEASON: Wayne Douglas Stoker, 94, died Wednesday, May 5, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services were Saturday, May 7, at 1 p.m. at Gleason First Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Carr, Rev. David Brown, Rev. Keith Sumner and Mike Walker officiating. Burial followed in East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Stoker was born November 25, 1915 in Weakley County to the late H.A. Stoker and Willie Bevil Stoker. He was a real estate broker, U.S. Army WW II veteran, and member of Gleason First Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Arnice Stoker; one sister, Jean Beasley; and one granddaughter, Lee Amanda Wright.

Survivors include: one daughter, Jenna (Earl) Wright of Martin; one brother, Gordon Stoker of Nashville; and one grandson.

BERTIE JANE DOSTER

PARIS: Bertie Jane Doster, 85, formerly of Gleason, died Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Henry County Medical Center. Funeral services are Friday, May 7, at 1 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home of Gleason with Bro. Donald Doster officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Springs Cemetery near Gleason.

Mrs. Doster, a factory worker, was born to the late James McGee and Willie (Crowell) McGee. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Doster.
Survivors include: two sons, Nathan Doster of Springville and Norman Doster of Paris; two daughters, Peggy Jane (Doster) Bowling of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and Beverley (Doster) Covington of Eagleville, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

TOMMY ELLIS, 1954-2010

MCKENZIE: Tommy Ellis, 56, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Jackson General Hospital. Funeral services are Friday, May 7, 11 a.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie.

Mr. Ellis, a farmer and avid outdoorsman, was born January 30, 1954. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, McKenzie and the VFW.

Survivors include: his parents, Garland (Beverly) Ellis of McKenzie and Dottie B. Norris of McKenzie; two daughters, April Maystead of Michigan and Codi Ellis of Paris; one sister, Brenda (Jonathan) Davis of Memphis; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is Thursday, May 6, from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and will begin on Friday, morning at 9 a.m. until service time.

BRIAN CHASE WEST PATTERSON, 2009-2010

PARIS: Brian Chase West Patterson, 8 months, died Monday, May 3, 2010 at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Brian was born August 16, 2009 in Paris.

Survivors include: his parents, David Brian and Brooke Nicholle West Patterson of Paris; twin brother, David Chance West Patterson of Paris; two sisters, Kirsten Pierce of Como and Sara Grace Youngblood of Paris; two brothers, Dylan Gorth and Bradyn Patterson, both of Huntingdon; grandparents, Anita Cannon of Paris, David (Becky) West of Drumright, Oklahoma, David Patterson of Paris, Jodie Matthews of Huntingdon; great-grandparents, Jessie Aline West of Fairfield, Illinois and Don Greene of Paris.

MARY EARLINE BURNINE, 1920 - 2010

MCLEMORESVILLE: Mrs. Mary Earline Burnine, 90, of McLemoresville, Tennessee died Friday, April 30, 2010 at the McKenzie Regional Hospital.

Funeral services were Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dilday - Carter Funeral Home in Huntingdon. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Henderson County.

Mrs. Burnine was born March 6, 1920 in Carroll County, Tennessee to the late Henry Edwards and Pearlie Goodrum Edwards. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by: four brothers, Wilson Edwards, Raymond Edwards, Vernon Edwards, Jessie Edwards: and three sisters, Ruby Payne, Ethel May Jones, and Sue Tart.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Mr. Warren G. Burnine; a son, Paul Dean (wife Miranda ) Williams, of Crockett, Texas; and a sister, Ollie Bell Taylor, of Trezevant, Tennessee. She also leaves two grandchildren.

MILDRED LUCILLE HAYWOOD, 1935 - 2010

CEDAR GROVE: Mrs. Mildred Lucille Haywood, 74, of Cedar Grove, Tennessee died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services were Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Dilday - Carter Funeral Home, Huntingdon, Tenn. Interment was in the New Hope Cemetery in Yuma. Brother Russ Wilkins and Brother Fred Ward officiated the services.

Mrs. Haywood was born August 24, 1935, in Carroll County, Tennessee, to the late Lenzie Breeden and Ollie Douglass Breeden. She was a homemaker and a member of the Huntingdon First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Willodean Stanford.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Mr. Gerald Haywood; two sons, Michael (Lisa) Haywood, of Memphis, Tennessee and Steven (Kim) Haywood, of Clarksville, Tennessee; three brothers, Harold Breeden, of Cedar Grove, Tennessee, Darrell Breeden and Ronnie Breeden, both of Yuma, Tennessee; and a sister, Faye Kelly, of Yuma, Tennessee. She also leaves four grandchildren.

WAYNE JUNIOR TAYLOR, 1939-2010

HUNTINGDON: Mr. Wayne Junior Taylor, 70 of Huntingdon, Tennessee died Friday, April 30, 2010 at the Life Care Center in Bruceton.

Funeral services were Monday, May 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment was in the Davis Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Steve Davis officiated the service.

Mr. Taylor was born September 3, 1939 in Missouri to the late J. B. Taylor and Lennie (Bradfield) Taylor. He was a retired painter. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Taylor and one brother, Johnny Taylor.

He is survived by one daughter, Teresa Robbins (husband Kenneth) of Camden; four sons, David Taylor (wife Teresa) of Lexington, Don Taylor (wife Karen) of Valrico, Florida, Wayne Taylor of Benton, Arkansas, Jamie Taylor of Oklahoma; several step children; one sister, Polly Meggs (husband Ray) of Huntingdon, and one brother Jimmy Ray Taylor (wife Patsy) of Waterloo, Illinois. He also leaves ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

WILLIAM JAMES ARNHOLD, 1938-2010

BRUCETON: Mr. William James Arnhold 72, of Bruceton, Tennessee died Friday, April 30, 2010 at his sister's home.

Funeral services were Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Chase Funeral Home. Interment was in the Hebron Cemetery.

Arnhold was born January 10, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to the late William Louis Arnhold and Mildred Marie (Hummel) Arnhold. He served in the U. S. Army for four years then worked as a carpenter before his illness; he was a member of the Hollow Rock Methodist Church, where he served as lay leader. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Scott Arnhold; and one daughter, Kari Arnhold.

He is survived by one daughter, Kris Palmer of Aurora, Illinois; and one son, William Arnhold, (wife Mickey) of Bruceton; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Suzann Edwards (husband Billy) of Bruceton and Kathleen Antos of Prairie duSac, Wisconsin.

LOIS SMITH ARGO, 1917-2010

TREZEVANT: Lois Smith Argo, age 93, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at NHC Healthcare in Milan, Tenn.

Funeral services were 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 1, 2010 at First Baptist Church, Trezevant, with burial in Trezevant Cemetery, Trezevant.

Mrs. Argo was born January 18, 1917 to the late Robert E. and Nova Baker Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Trezevant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur A. Argo, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (George) Atwood of Trezevant; three grandchildren, Jennifer Marcus of Atwood, Andrea (Ricky) Browning of Trezevant and Andy (Angie) Atwood of Atwood, Tenn.; and seven great-grandchildren, Gina Marcus, Trey Browning, Sarah Browning, Abby Marcus, Zane Atwood, Owen Atwood and Knox Atwood.

Memorials may be made to the Trezevant First Baptist Church Memorial Fund.

FRANK GOODMAN, 1935-2010

MARTIN: William Frank "Yogie" Goodman, 74, of Martin and McKenzie died April 28, 2010 at his home in McKenzie. Services were Monday at Mount Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Troy. Burial was in the church cemetery. White-Ranson Funeral Home was in charge of services.

He was born July 11, 1935 to the late Samuel David and Lois Goodman and worked in the Fulton County and Obion County areas. He was preceded in death by his common-law wife, Louise Morris.

Survivors include six daughters, Trish Powell of Fulton, Marilyn Johnson of Obion, Beverly Pollard of Martin and Margaret Richard, Carol Watts and Amie Stairs, all of South Fulton; his son, Kenneth Ross of Union City; three sisters, Bonnie Seymore of Alabama, Betty Beckle of Pennsylvania, and Joanne Carr of Union City; two brothers, Robert Goodman of Union City and Bill Goodman of Texas; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

MCKENZIE: Madeline Barker, age 80, died Sunday, May 2, 2010, AT McKenzie Regional Hospital. Visitation is Tuesday, May 4 at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. until service time. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 5 at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie, with burial to follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie.

Ms. Barker, a retired factory worker, was born November 14, 1929 to the late Bruce and Mildred Haynes McFadden. She was preceded in death by one sister, June Howell and her brother, Tommy McFadden.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy(Rick) Legens of McKenzie; two sons, Robert Earl Melton of McKenzie and Danny Joe Melton of Gleason; three sisters, Shirley Peirce of Hammond, ID, Jane (Harold) Smothers of McKenzie, Judy (Ted) Finley of McKenzie and her half-sister, Kathy (Tim) Gearin of Gleason; two brothers, Gordon Ray McFadden of Henry, Billy (Peggy) McFadden of Huntsville, AL and her half-brother, Joe McFadden of Memphis; three grandchildren, Justin(Wendy) Melton of Gleason, Jantzen Melton of Gleason, and Slatin Legens of McKenzie; two great-grandchildren, Taylore Jo Melton and Tanner Daniel Melton.

Mr. Bates was born Mary 1, 1929 in Trezevant, Tenn. to the late Will and Ruby Holmes Bates. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carolyn Bates; two sisters, Elizabeth Perry and Mildred Louise Jennings; and one brother, James Bates. He was the former owner of Three-Way Gas Station in McKenzie and an employee of Gary Simmons automobile dealership. He was a member of First Baptist Church, McKenzie. Survivors include: two daughters, Alesia (William) Griffin of Trezevant and Alison Cupples (Ray Kemp) of Jackson; two brothers, Joe (Judy) Bates of Humboldt and Billy (Wilma) Bates of Harville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jake (Linda) Cupples, Carolyn Cupples (Jeremiah Kirk), Crystal (Joey) Harris; and four great-grandchildren.
