IONA "ONIE" CLARK, 1919-2010

HORSESHOE LAKE, ARKANSAS: Iona "Onie" McCollough Gates Clark, 90, died March 5, 2010 at her home. Funeral services are Monday, March 8, at 11:30 a.m. at Central Baptist Church with Bro. Lee Roberts officiating. Burial was at Memory Hill Gardens in Bartlett, Tennessee.
Mrs. Clark was born in Layfette County, Mississippi on August 16, 1919 to the late Nelson and Ellie Sullivan McCollough. She was a very active member of Central Baptist Church until illness hampered her activity, but it never deterred her love for her church and its work. She loved plants and was renowned for her "green thumb".
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lynn E. Gates and Thomas C. Clark; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Ruth Clark Montgomery; step-granddaughter, Marilyn Montgomery Jones; and one granddaughter, Julie Ann Bowden.
Survivors include: one son, NW (Anne) Gates of Horseshoe, Arkansas; one daughter, Ellie (Bill) Bowden of Warrenton, Missouri; and stepchildren, Anita (Merl) Bringe of Oceanside, California, Tomi (Ed) Kyker of Niota, Tennessee, and Victor (Vicky) Clark of  McKenzie; grandchildren, Lynn Gates (Tony) Mazurkiewicz, Alan (Vail) Gates, Jeff Bowden and Brian (Dana) Bowden; step-grandchildren, Jack Ramsay, Linda Ramsay, Calvin (Patty) Ramsay, Charles Montgomery, Miranda Kyker, Jacob (Kelly) Kyker, Jill Clark (Harris) Kennedy, Thomas Clark and Rachael Clark; nephews, Harold (Pat) Grisham, David (Donnie) Grisham and 19 great-grandchildren.

LYNN HAYES, 1945-2010

HENRY: Lynn Hayes, 64, died Tuesday, March 2, at his home. Funeral services were Thursday, March 4, at 3 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Corey Meggs and Dale Joyner officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Cemetery in Paris.
Mr. Hayes was born October 27, 1945 in Humboldt to the late J.R. Hayes and Mildred McGraw Hayes. He was co-owner and Vice President of J.R. Hayes Construction Co. and member of New Life Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Darryl Lax Hayes.
Survivors include: his wife, Susan Pegram Hayes of Henry; one son, David (Jennifer) Hayes of Paris; two daughters, Tiffany (Jimm) Guarino of Paris and Jennifer (Mark) Reynolds of Henry; one sister, Leisa Hayes Wimberley of Henry; three brothers, Jack (Betty) Hayes of Henry, Jim (Roselyn) Hayes and Jerry (Debbie) Hayes, both of Henry; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

NELDA OSBRON, 1932-2010

PARIS: Nelda Osbron, 77, died Saturday, March 6, at her home. Funeral services were Tuesday, March 9, at 10 a.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Mike Rhodes and Trent Bullock officiating. Burial followed in Jones Chapel Cemetery in Paris.
Mrs. Osbron was born June 21, 1932 in Paris to the late Henry Leander Wimberley and Sarah Annie Coleman Wimberley. She was a homemaker and member of Puryear Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, LaBree Davidson; and one brother, James Paul Wimberley.
Survivors include: her husband, Quentell Osbron of Paris; three daughters, Paula Ann (Timothy) Miller of Martin, Joyce LaBree (Buddy) Smothers of Hollow Rock, and Marjorie Lynne LoVette of Foley, Alabama; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

VIRGINIA SHOMAKER, 1931-2010

MCKENZIE: Virginia Shomaker, 79, died Friday, March 5, 2010 at McKenzie Healthcare Center. Funeral services were Sunday, March 7, at 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. Shomaker was born January 1, 1931 to the late Harrison B. and Lula Mae Lancaster Caldwell. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Shomaker; and one son, Donnie Shomaker.
Survivors include: two daughters, Linda Banker of Olney, Illinois and Judy Urbantz of San Antonio, Texas; one son, Ronnie (Martha) Shomaker of McKenzie; eight grandchildren, Justin (Melanie) Banker, Shawn (Doug) Franklin, Jason Banker, Rodney Parrish, Sandy Parrish, Cecil Parrish, Jayma Shomaker and R.C. (Jill) Shomaker; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Activity Fund at McKenzie Healthcare Center in McKenzie.

CLARKSBURG: James Oneal Hart, 70, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services were Friday, March 5, at 2 p.m. at Clarksburg Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Harold Hopper and Bro. Andrew Stokes officiating. Burial followed in Clarksburg Cemetery.
Mr. Hart was born April 20, 1939 in McKenzie to the late Chester Hart and Estelle (Jackson) Hart. He was a retired electrician multi-craft mechanic for Inland Container Company, a member of Clarksburg Missionary Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge # 106, and in the National Guard for 12 years. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Lewis; and one sister, Martha Rich.
Survivors include: his wife of 51 years, Mary Frances Hart of Clarksburg; one daughter, Kim (Bud) Singleton of Clarksburg; two sons, Greg Hart and David Hart, both of Clarksburg; two sisters, Lucille Davis of Lexington and Dixie Monhaney of Arlington, Texas; one brother, Chester "Junior" Hart of Cedar Grove; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Mia Hart.

CEDAR GROVE: James Doyle Kirby, 81, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at his home. Funeral services were Wednesday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Clint Hopper officiating. Burial followed in Obion Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Kirby was born April 7, 1928 in Pangburn, Arkansas to the late George Kirby and Ethel (Brockwell) Kirby. He was a materials handler for Bendix Corp. and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include: his wife of 11 years, Lovie J. Kirby of Cedar Grove; one daughter, Tina Kirby of Hartford, Michigan; two step-daughters, Shirley (Randall) Wilson of Huntingdon and Judy Baum of Cedar Grove; one son, Randy (Frances) Kirby of Hartford, Michigan; four stepsons, Harold (Robbie) Hunley of Bruceton, James Hunley of Huntingdon, Donnie Hunley of Camden, and Tony (Pam) Hunley of Clarksburg; two sisters, Loleta (Everett) Mason of Pangburn, Arkansas and Velma Prince of Michigan; four brothers, Floyd Kirby of Pataloma, California, T.R. Kirby, Wilburn (Vera) Kirby, and Franklin (Gladys) Kirby, all of Arkansas; two grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

HOLLOW ROCK: Mary Nell Reed, 70, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at her home. Funeral services were Wednesday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at Humbles Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Bruce Hollingsworth and Bro. Jonathan Vaughn. Burial followed in Humbles Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Reed was born July 24, 1939 in Benton County to the late Buford Hampton and Adell (Ellis) Hampton. She was a retired seamstress for Henry I. Siegel Company, owned and operated the Movie Center in Huntingdon, and was a member of Humbles Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyndell "Bud" Reed; and three brothers, Stanley Hampton, Carl Hampton, and Michael Hampton.
Survivors include: two daughters, Melba (Donald) Ivy of Hollow Rock, Nea (Joe) Cole of Buena Vista; one son, Danny Reed of Hollow Rock; three sisters, Vonnell Fowler, Glenda Vaughn, Kimberly Parker, all of Huntingdon; and one brother, Andy Hampton of Jackson; four grandsons, one God granddaughter and one God great grandson.

ARRID ODELL FOULKS, 1958 - 2010

HUNTINGDON: Arrid Odell Foulks, 52, died Sunday, February 28, 2010. Funeral services were Thursday, March 4, at 1 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery in Paris.
Mr. Foulks was born January 7, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan. He was a production worker for MIG Company. He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Odell Foulks.
Survivors include: his mother, Pearl (Cunningham) Foulks of Huntingdon; two sisters, Rose Ann Foulks-Bailey and Dr. Dorothy Ann Foulks Black, both of Jackson; one brother, Thomas Odell (Mamie) Foulks of Huntingdon; nieces and nephews.

SHIRLEY SUE HARPER TAYLOR, 1938-2010

MCKENZIE: Shirley Sue Harper Taylor, 71, died Saturday, March 6, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services are Wednesday, March 10, at 11 a.m. at McKenzie Church of Christ with Bro. Jim Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Eldad Baptist Church Cemetery in Gibson County.
Mrs. Taylor was born September 9, 1938 in Gibson County to the late Argyle Harper, Sr. and Lucy Bell Mathis Harper. She was a retired seamstress. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers. Homer Harper and Argyle Harper, Jr.; and one sister, Florence Crocker.
Survivors include: two sons, Keith (Debbie) Lowe of Martin and Don (Jennifer) Taylor of Huntingdon; one brother, Wilburn Harper of Milan; five sisters, Estelle Blankenship and Hattie V. Crocker, both of Milan, Rosie Hayes of Louisiana, Mary Ruth Barnes of California, and Jessie Mae Shannon of Montgomery, Alabama; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday, March 10, from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Johnson was born March 25, 1979 in Paris. She was a housewife.
Survivors include: her husband, Billy Joe Johnson; parents, Jerry Heck and Lisa Kelly Heck; one daughter, Ashleigh Nicole Johnson of Bruceton; one sister, Jennie Wilson of Camden; and two brothers, J.D. Heck of Big Sandy and Robbie Heck of the U.S. Military.

LINDA ROSE MEDLIN RIMMER, 1949-2010

TREZEVANT: Linda Rose Medlin Rimmer, 60, died Wednesday, March 3, at her home. Funeral services were Friday, March 5, at 2 p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Branscum officiating. Burial followed in Poplar Springs Cemetery in Atwood.
Mrs. Rimmer was born September 14, 1949 in Milan. She was a former employee of Nestaway Inc. and Baptist in belief. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Medlin; one daughter, Stacy Jo Rimmer; one brother, Jimmy Medlin; and one grandchild.
Survivors include: her husband, Bobby Rimmer of Trezevant; her mother, Lois Medlin Walker of Trezevant; three daughters, Belinda (Michael) Hayes of Atwood, Cindy Rimmer Greer of McKenzie and Donna (David) Pickard of Trezevant; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

JEWELL VICTOR CHADWELL

MCKENZIE: Jewell Victor Chadwell, 84, died Monday, February 22, at Henry County Medical Center. Funeral services are Friday, February 26, at 2 p.m. at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan with burial in Pisgah Cemetery in Atwood.
Mr. Chadwell was a retired General Motors employee, U.S. Navy World War II veteran and member of McKenzie Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Brown.
Survivors include: his wife, Essie Chadwell of McKenzie; one daughter, Brenda Jean Chadwell of Jackson; two sons, Victor Chadwell and Richard Chadwell, both of McKenzie; three stepdaughters, Melinda Dailey and Cathy Blanton, both of McKenzie, and Patricia Everts of Leichfield, Kentucky; two stepsons, Vernon Hohimer, Jr. of Pleasant Ridge, Kentucky and Terry Wayne Hohimer of Hartford, Kentucky; one brother, Dewayne Chadwell of Flint, Michigan; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren and three step great-great-grandchildren.

CONNIE SHERRILL (BAKER) TUCKER, 1918-2010

MCKENZIE: Connie Sherrill (Baker) Tucker, 91, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at her home. Memorial services were Tuesday, March 2, at 2 p.m. at the McKenzie Church of Christ with Bro. Jim Roberts officiating.
Mrs. Tucker was born November 8, 1918 in Huntingdon to the late Garvin Dudley Holladay and Josephine Phillips Holladay.  She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a retired school teacher from Huntingdon Special School District, where she taught 29 years. She enjoyed teacher and loved children. She graduated from Bethel College and received her Masters from Memphis State University. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her adopted father, Garvin Dudley Holladay; her husbands, James Blane Baker and Herman Paul Tucker; and two brothers, George Russell and Jim William Holladay.
Survivors include: one son, James Richard (Janice) Ruffell, III of McKenzie; one daughter, "Judy" Julia (John) Winters  of McKenzie; two grandsons, James (Stephanie) Richard Ruffell, IV and Jeremy Mark Ruffell; and two great-grandchildren, Kaley Renee and Allie Beth Ruffell.

Mrs. Wallace was born September 21, 1945 in Paducah, Kentucky. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center and attended the Faith Baptist Church in Hollow Rock. She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Rickman; and one brother, Bill Rickman.
Survivors include: her husband of 40 years, Doug Wallace; one daughter, Heather (Scott) Jackson of Columbia, South Carolina; one son, Rick (Amanda) Wallace of Huntingdon; her mother, Eunice Rickman of Bruceton; one brother, Jim Rickman of Paducah, Kentucky; two grandchildren and two step grandchildren.

TREZEVANT: Jeremy Lynn Black, 25, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Gibson General Hospital in Trenton. Funeral services were Monday, March 1, at 11 a.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Henderson County.
Mr. Black was born March 24, 1984 and was employed at Dura in Milan. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Dorothy Oliver; paternal grandparents, Bill and Margie Black; and one uncle, Harold (Bubba) Butler.
Survivors include: his parents, Teresa A. Butler of Trezevant and Mike (Shannon) Black of McKenzie; one brother, Jordan L. (Brittney King) Black of Trezevant; five aunts, Paula Chesser of Henry, Ann Black of Henry, Joyce Freeman of McKenzie, Peggy Ianz of Michigan and Vicki Moss of Urbana, Illinois; three uncles, Steve Butler of Pettersburg, Tennessee, Randy Butler and Dale Oliver, both of Trezevant; and one nephew, Brannon.

WESTPORT: Henry Ray "Hank" Rushing, 42, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at his home. Graveside services were Saturday, February 27, at 10 a.m. at Concord Cemetery with Bro. Latham McLean officiating.
Mr. Rushing was born May 5, 1967 in Jackson. He was a self-employed construction worker and a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church of Mercer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia (Robison) Rushing.
Survivors include: his father, Henry Ray Rushing, Sr. of Jackson; one sister, Rose King of Jackson; three brothers, Ronnie Rushing of Florida, Chris Rushing of Henderson and Travis Rushing of Jackson.

CEDAR GROVE: Emma Ruth Coleman, 84, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were Thursday, February 25, at 12 p.m. at Chase Funeral Home with Bro. Larry DePriest officiating. Burial followed in Hickory Flat Cemetery.
Mrs. Coleman was born August 6, 1925 in Jasper, Tennessee to the late Marion Frank Sutton and Odessa (Clowers) Sutton. She was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pap Coleman; one grandson, Dwain Davis; two sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include: two daughters, Shirley Nichols and Sue (Harold) Breeden, both of Cedar Grove; one sister, Alice Hrabal of Bartow, Florida; four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Moss was born November 16, 1941 in Gibson County. She was a homemaker and a Jehovah Witness. She was preceded in death by her father, Needham Newell; her husband, David Moss; and one brother, Lonnie Newell.
Survivors include: three daughters, Carolyn Gilley of Huntingdon, Judy Sanford of Yuma, and Tammy Gibson of Atwood; two sons, Paul Moss of Huntingdon and Wayne Moss of Lexington; her mother, Eutoka Newell of Huntingdon; three sisters, Barbara Schieman of Huntingdon, Linda Chandler of Milan, and Brenda Franks of Medina; two brothers, Junior Newell of Humboldt, and Ronnie Newell of Trenton; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

BILLY JOE POWELL, 1933-2010

SPRINGVILLE: Billy Joe Powell, 76, died Wednesday, February 24, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Funeral services were Friday, February 26, at 11 a.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris with Chad Kennedy officiating. Burial followed in Brock Cemetery in Greenfield.
Mr. Powell was born March 28, 1933 in Trezevant to the late William Hubert Powell and Rebecca Stanton Powell. He was a truck driver for many years, a Pentecostal and served in the National Guard. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Wayne Powell and William Paul Powell.
Survivors include: his wife, Lela Ann Gurley Powell of Springville; four daughters, Charlotte Roberts, Rebecca Gerhardt and Donna (Lee) Kennon, all of Paris, and Jeannie (Charlie) Lee of Puryear; two sons, Billy (Kim) Powell of Dresden and Mark (Gavin) Powell of Memphis; two sisters, Mary Sue Holt of Christmasville and Reba Jane Courtney of Big Sandy; two brothers, Roy Powell of Springville and Paul Wesley Powell of Gleason; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

GLEASON: Rozelle Wiseman, 79, died Thursday, February 25, at her home. Funeral services were Sunday, February 28, at Gleason First Baptist Church at 3 p.m. with Bro. Keith Sumner and Bro. Bob Copeland officiating. Burial followed in New Valley Cemetery in Gleason.
Mrs. Wiseman was born December 11, 1930 to the late William David Ozment and Eva (Jones) Ozment. She worked as a supervisor for HIS in Gleason. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wiseman.
Survivors include: three sons, William Dale Wiseman of Sharon, Jeffery Lynn Wiseman of Springville and Terry Wiseman of Gleason; two daughters, Gail (Wiseman) Muzzall and Cynthia (Wiseman) Lampkins, both of Gleason; one brother, Harold Thomas Ozment of Waverley; one sister, Billie Sue Hudson of Gleason; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

GLEASON: Rachel Alene Dunning, 68, died Thursday, February 25, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin. Funeral services were Monday, March 1, at Beech Springs Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Bro. Bob Copeland and Bro. Dean Doster officiating. Burial followed in Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason.
Mrs. Dunning was born October 11, 1941 in Gleason. She attended Beech Springs Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress for HIS in Gleason. She was preceded in death by her father, Zelmer (Preacher) Williams of Gleason.
Survivors include: her mother, Dorothy (Jones) Williams of Gleason; two sons, Keith Dunning of Martin and David Dunning of Medina; two brothers, J.T. Williams and Bub Williams of Lansing, Michigan; five sisters, Sue Odom of Como, Peggy Doster of McKenzie, Bobbie Chandler and Kathy Lawerence, both of Gleason, and Blondel Kiteredge of Maryville; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Craig was born December 26, 1939 in Henry County to the late Olin Perry and Lou Ross Perry. She was a homemaker and member of Temple Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sandra Medlock and Mertice Roberson; one brother, Edwin Perry; and one great-granddaughter.
Survivors include: her husband, Henton Craig of Paris; one daughter, Martha Cooper; two sisters, Ruth (Roger) Taylor of Paris and Doris (Gene) Rich of Huntingdon.

KATHRYN ANN MCMULLIN, 1951-2010

HUNTINGDON: Kathryn Ann McMullin, 58, died Sunday, February 21, at her home.
Ms. McMullin was born August 5, 1951 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late William Everett Taylor and Edna Louise (Padgett) Taylor. She was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, William (Bill) Everett Aylor; two sisters, Rebecca (Becky) Louise Nefler and Christina (Christine) Irene Sanders.
Survivors include: two daughters, Tammy Jeanette Harp of Phil Campbell, Alabama and Julie Ann Lemire of Huntingdon; two sons, John Louis York, II and Robert Lee Sanders, both of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, William (Henry) Warren Taylor of Placida, Florida; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

VALE: Anna "Alletha" Turner, 88, died Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Lakeside Senior Living Center in McKenzie. Funeral services were Wednesday, February 24, at 1 p.m. at Dilday - Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Turner officiating.. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery in Vale.
Mrs. Turner was born April 23, 1921 in Carroll County to the late Willie Turner and Lucy May (Ritter) Turner. She was a homemaker and member of New Hope United Methodist Church. Besides her parent she was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Turner; four brothers, Euin Turner, Lewis Turner, Lee Turner, and Troy Turner; and two sisters, Virgie Turner and Willie May Sullivan.
Survivors include: one son, Freelon Turner of Huron, Tennessee; two daughters, Joyce Barnhart of Vale and Janie Turner of Dresden; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

WANDA LOU ALLEN, 1931-2010

MCKENZIE: Wanda Lou Allen, 79, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at her home. Memorial services were Thursday, February 25, at 10 a.m. at Dilday - Carter Funeral Home.
Ms. Allen was born February 4, 1931 in Shawneetown, Illinois. She was an employee of the McKenzie Vocational School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Allen; her mother, Lillian Winters; and two daughters, Barbara Allen and Rhonda Allen.
Survivors include: one daughter, Debra Blankenship of Trezevant; one son, Danny Allen of McKenzie; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

WALDON BARNETT, 1923-2010

HUNTINGDON: Waldon Barnett, 86, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, February 27, at 10 a.m. at Dilday - Carter Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Winkler and Mark Gooch officiating. Burial followed in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Barnett was born October 15, 1923 in Carroll County to the late Sterling Price Barnett and Mattie Iris (Wall) Barnett. He was a member of Huntingdon Church of Christ and an Army veteran. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Maudine Roark Barnett; and one brother, Paul Barnett.
Survivors include: one son, Jeffery (Nan) Barnett of Huntingdon; one daughter, Donna (Bruce) Herrin of McKenzie; one sister, Kay (Mike) Povendo of Fort Worth, Texas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

NOVA YOUNG, 1917-2010

MCKENZIE: Nova Young, 92, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Jackson Regional Hospital. Funeral services were Sunday, February 28, 2 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. Young was born May 19, 1917 in Carroll County to the late G.A. and Ella Smith Bryant. She was a cafeteria worker for the McKenzie Special School District and a member of Pilgrim's Rest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Young; three sisters, Sula B. Barker, Lavern Bryant Haywood, and Pauline Quinn; and five brothers, Andrew Bryant, Horace Bryant, Giles Bryant, Holder Bryant and William Bryant.
Survivors include: two sons, Bobby L. (Emily) Young and Garry Young, both of McKenzie; two grandchildren, Nick (Lindsay) Young of Lexington and Nathan (Brandi) Young of McKenzie; and two great-grandchildren, Abbie Young and Noah Young.

MARGARET WEST PURCELL, 1923-2010

MCKENZIE: Margaret West Purcell, 86, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at McKenzie Healthcare Center. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 5, at McKenzie First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, McKenzie. Visitation begins Thursday, March 4, 2010, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Brummitt Funeral Home, McKenzie and resumes Friday at the funeral home, 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Mrs. Purcell was born November 24, 1923 to the late Carlin and Nola West. She was a member of the McKenzie First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Imogene Sub Group, a Sunday school teacher and a member of various women Bible studies; she was a school teacher, a homemaker, and a devoted wife and mother. In 1965, she and her husband, Jim, opened Village Furniture, Paris, Tenn. and together they conducted business for twenty-six years before retiring.
Mrs. Purcell is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, James Alfred Purcell (Jim); two daughters, Nola (John) Jenkins of Wilson, North Carolina and Wanda (Ricky) Mayeux of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three sons, Homer (Barbara) Purcell of Ramsey, New Jersey, Bruce (Julie) Purcell of Columbia, Missouri and Chuck (Jacqueline) Purcell of Jackson, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren - Kimberly Jenkins, Melissa (Cole) Sadler, Matthew (Jennifer) Purcell, Ryan Purcell, Cameron Purcell, Andrew Purcell , Sarah Purcell, William Purcell and Caroline Purcell.
