News Release from City of Branson
Branson's Stockstill Park, which has been closed due to flooding last week, will reopen tomorrow, Saturday, November 7th.
City crews and volunteers from the community spent the day today cleaning up the flood damage caused by nearby Roark Creek overflowing its banks. The cleanup included laying new mulch around the playgrounds, removing debris that had washed up around the ball field fences and re-anchoring portions of those fences.
"Many thanks to all the hard work of the staff and volunteers that helped," said Parks and Recreation Director Cindy Shook. "They accomplished so much in this one day that allowed us to reopen the park to the public tomorrow."
Shook said fortunately the flooding this time around was not as damaging as in recent years when it took several days to clean up the park.
