Pre-Spring Break Party at Forsyth

There are colorful frogs hanging from the ceiling and lots of pictures, charts and other learning tools around the room of Forsyth teacher Montye Mickelson to aid her 1st grade students in their quest for knowledge.  Mrs. Mickelson is this month’s Ozark Mountain Bank Teacher of the month.  We visited this lively classroom of 6 year-olds to honor Mrs. Mickelson and celebrate with a pizza party from Luigi’s Pizza Kitchen and present her with the commemorative plaque from The Sign Man.  The Titanic’s 1st class maid, Jamie, was on hand to share some fun and little known facts about the famous ship, as well as present Mrs. Mickelson and her class with gifts and goodies.

Roger Frieze, representing, Ozark Mountain Bank, garnered a rousing  applause as he delivered a beautiful gift basket to the honoree and special $1 coins to be disbursed to the class for good behavior and merit awards.   For dessert, everyone enjoyed fabulous Dunkin Donuts with sprinkles and additional refreshments from Harter House.

Others on hand to help with the party included Forsyth School Historian Donna Edwards, Kristina Hagey from the Branson Titanic Museum Attraction and Hometown Radio’s Linda Odum, Joan Deberry and Janet Ellis.  Special guests that stopped by to congratulate Mrs. Mickelson were Forsyth School Superintendent Brent Blevins and Mrs. Blevins and Assistant Superintendent Jeff Mingus.

The Hometown Radio Teacher of the Month program is a presentation of Ozark Mountain Bank to recognize the dedicated and passionate educators in the area.  This award winning endeavor is also made possible by the contributions of Dunkin Donuts, Famous Dave’s BBQ, Discovery Center of Springfield and the Branson Titanic Museum Attraction, along with The Sign Man and Luigi’s Pizza Kitchen.  For more information contact Hometown Radio’s Janet Ellis at janetellis@krzk.com.
