Kirbyville Students on Educational Quest with Shelangoski
When you walk in the classroom of Ashley Shelangoski, you know it’s a place of positive energy, creativity and great ideas. Miss Shelangoski teaches reading, Spanish, the Quest gifted program and is Student Council advisor for Kirbyville Middle School and has been named this month’s Ozark Mountain Bank Teacher of the Month. A winter storm hampered the original pizza party and celebration – but some clever re-shuffling of schedules allowed for the honoree and her class to enjoy an abbreviated event just before Christmas break!
Miss Shelangoski was nominated by 5th grader Elizabeth who wrote, “she has so many fun things for us to do…I think she is awesome!” Miss Shelangoski and her class dined on Luigi’s Pizza with dessert of Dunkin Donuts (completely festive with red and green sprinkles), along with other refreshments from Harter House of Hollister and were then treated to an array of gifts and surprises from the program’s sponsors Ozark Mountain Bank, Branson Titanic and Museum Attraction, Discovery Center of Springfield, Dunkin Donuts and Famous Daves BBQ. Miss Shelangoski was also presented with a beautiful commemorative plaque from NatureGraphics.
On hand for the celebration were Roger Frieze from Ozark Mountain Bank; Kristina Hagey and First Class Maid Jamie from the Branson Titanic Museum Attraction; representing Famous Dave’s BBQ – Brent Bartmann and from Hometown Radio, Joan Deberry and Janet Ellis, along with Kirbyville Middle School Principal Carless Osbourn and Counselor Leanne West.
