Taneyville First Graders Love Pizza, Donuts, Reading and Mrs. Marsh!
Decked out in their character education t-shirts and ready to celebrate on a fall, Friday afternoon…the first grade class of Mrs. Dawn Marsh greeted us with cheers as we visited their Taneyville elementary classroom for the Ozark Mountain Bank Teacher of the Month party.
Mrs. Marsh was nominated for the honor by her student, Chastin, who wrote: “Do you know the coolest thing about her? She is teaching me to read! How awesome is that?! She is the best ever!”
Chastin and his classmates were all well mannered and respectful, but there was a great deal of positive energy in the room as served the tasty Luigi’s Pizza and delicious Dunkin Donuts and then presented Mrs. Marsh with the beautiful commemorative plaque from The Sign Man. Mrs. Marsh and her class also received gifts and certificates from the program’s sponsors: Ozark Mountain Bank, Discovery Center of Springfield, Dunkin Donuts, Branson Titanic Museum Attraction, Luigi’s Pizza Kitchen, Calvin’s Used Books., Famous Dave’s BBQ and Cold Stone Creamery.
First Class Maid Jamie from the Titanic Museum Attraction told wonderful stories about the famous ship and her interesting passengers and then taught the young ladies in Mrs. Marsh's class how to do a regal curtsy and the young men how to do a proper English salute. She also gave a sneak preview about a couple of new adorable additions to the Titanic crew for next year.
On hand to celebrate at the Teacher of the Month party were Roger Frieze from Ozark Mountain Bank; First Class Maid Jamie and Kristina Hagey from the Branson Titanic Museum Attraction; Brent Bartmann and Wilbur representing Famous Dave’s BBQ, Taneyville Superintendent Tim Crawley, Class Mom Keri, and from Hometown Radio Joan Deberry and Janet Ellis.
